Safe 'n EasyTM "Bighead" A complete feed with added MDCP and Calcium Carbonate for Horse and Ponies in Subtropical Climates Meets the special needs of Horses and Ponies grazing in Northern Climates.
Safe ‘n Easy Bighead Blend contains extra MDCP and Calcium Carbonate for Nutritional balance in Sub tropical climates To prevent Big Head disease you need to make sure you put enough calcium in your horse’s diet to overpower the oxalate or phosphorous’ ability to bind the calcium in you horses gut. Feeding a high calcium feed specially designed for horses grazing tropical pasture (such as Safe’n Easy Bighead Blend), or adding calcium supplements like limestone and monodicalcium phosphate to your horses feed will ensure your horse receives enough calcium to assist in avoiding Big Head. It is important to carefully balance your horse’s diet to ensure you are maintaining a good balance of all nutrients in the diet. Safe’n Easy Bighead Blend was developed by Equine Nutrition Australia, and is suitable for all classes of horses engaged in various types of exercise.
For ponies on 2kg of Safe ‘n Easy Bighead Blend per day, they will be receiving a minimum of 82 grams of calcium per day. For Horses on 4kg of Safe ‘n Easy Bighead Blend per day, they will be receiving a minimum of 164 grams of calcium per day. Directions For Use Safe'n Easy Bighead Blend should be used to supplement good quality Lucerne Hay and grazing pasture. Feed approximately 1% of bodyweight of the horse per day (i.e. 15 hh 400kg horse = 4kg's per day). This may vary with each horses work rate and or condition, and other available sources of food. You can add further Oaten Chaff to Safe ‘n Easy Bighead Blend but this will decrease the Vitamin and Mineral intake. We recommend this feed should be dampened and mixed thoroughly before use. I.e. For every 4 scoops of feed, add 1 scoop of water. Should be Damp and Crumbly when fed. For specific advice, please don't hesitate to call us on 1300 781 244 anytime. Swabbing and Competition Information This feed is made from All Natural ingredients and as such it complies with the Australian Rules of Racing and EFA Competition Swabbing Rules and with Australian Pesticides & Veterinary Medicines Authority. Pregnant or Lactating Mares & Weanlings It is a all natural feed and safe to be fed to Weanlings and Pregnant Mares and all horses in between.
